About the Artist

 

Mitch Cain is a nationally recognized wildlife artist who is consistently being sought out  and commissioned  from clients throughout the world because he is one of the top taxidermists in the world, doing work for such organizations as the Shah Museum in Indonesia. Mitch has won many state and local taxidermy competitions as well as the much sought after National titles like, National Champion, 1996 Peoples Choice Columbia Missouri, North American Champion  1999 in the game head division and also the Life Size categories at the National Competition in Billings, Montana. The North American Champion is the National Champion in the division of excellence, the highest award you can achieve in a national competition. 


     He has also  been presented with the coveted WASCO award for the most artistic entry in 1995. As well as First Place and best of category for a shoulder mount at the 1998 National FNAWS show in Reno, Nevada. Mitch was awarded the National Taxidermy Association Award of Excellence in 1996.


     As well as an accomplished taxidermist Mitch is also a sculptor of  his own custom line of sheep manikins and is constantly adding to this line of manikins. Mitch has hunted and collected specimens for references all over the world, so you will get the most anatomically accurate  mount to be found only at Wild West Wildlife Art.

This Bighorn Sheep  shoulder mount captured the North American  Champion game head at the 1999 show in Billings, Montana

 

Mitch was commissioned by the National Wild Turkey Federation to mount this Mountain Lion for their headquarters in Edgefield South Carolina. He was chosen from a select group of the nations top big game taxidermists to do this job.
